United Diplomatic Council
The Kingdom of Bahrain witnessed a remarkable evening dedicated to Economic Diplomacy and Internationalization, bringing together distinguished leaders from government, diplomacy, and business. Organized under the aegis of the Asian Arab Chamber of Commerce (AACC) and the United Diplomatic Council (UDC), the event served as a pivotal moment in advancing Bahrain–India economic relations and creating actionable pathways for global trade and investment cooperation.
The high-level engagement was graced by Her Excellency Shaikha Marwa bint Abdulrahman bin Mohammad Al Khalifa, whose presence underlined Bahrain’s strong commitment to global partnerships and sustainable growth. In her inspiring words, “Bahrain has always stood as a bridge between regions, and this dialogue strengthens our shared vision for economic prosperity across borders.”
Adding further weight to the discussions, Ms. Maram Anwar Al-Saleh from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Bahrain addressed the gathering, emphasizing Bahrain’s role in shaping regional diplomacy. She remarked, “Economic diplomacy is not just about trade, it is about building trust, partnerships, and a future that benefits all nations.”
The evening also witnessed engaging participation from Mr. Nabeel Ajoor, members of the Royal Family, Parliament, and leaders from the Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society and the Bahrain Businessmen’s Society. Entrepreneurs and business leaders from Saudi Arabia and Qatar traveled for the event, while representatives from China, Norway, Brazil, the European Union, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and the UAE highlighted the international character of the dialogue.
A core highlight of the evening was the deliberations around the upcoming Bahrain India Trade Council, which will formally launch in December 2025 in Bahrain. The council is being led by Dr. K.J. Purshottam, a highly successful businessman whose leadership is driving investments, strategic partnerships, and cross-border collaborations.
Speaking about the vision ahead, Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of the Asian Arab Chamber of Commerce, noted: “The Bahrain India Trade Council will be a catalyst for investment, bilateral trade, and long-term partnerships. This platform will connect entrepreneurs and businesses to create measurable outcomes.”
The discussions during the event were action-driven, focusing on export growth, investment facilitation, bilateral trade opportunities, and Bahrain’s strategic advantages as a regional hub. The evening concluded with a consensus on the need for sustained engagement and concrete follow-ups, ensuring that the partnerships explored will transform into impactful outcomes.
With Bahrain’s strategic location, India’s growing economic strength, and the support of international partners, the Bahrain India Trade Council is poised to redefine how nations approach trade diplomacy, investment cooperation, and internationalization in the coming decade.
